EFT - grounded in science and focused on you
-
Modern Psychology
EFT incorporates techniques from cognitive and exposure therapy to address emotional triggers and thought patterns. By focusing on specific issues while tapping, EFT helps desensitise emotional responses and reframe unhelpful beliefs.
-
Acupressure
EFT incorporates tapping on specific acupressure points, identified in traditional Chinese medicine as pathways for energy flow. Research suggests that tapping on these points while focusing on emotional stress can reduce physiological arousal and interrupt stress responses.
-
Neuroscience
EFT engages the amygdala, the part of the brain that regulates fear and anxiety, helping to reduce its activation. By combining tapping with focused thought, EFT reduces cortisol levels (the body’s primary stress hormone). This process helps rewire neural pathways, supporting emotional regulation.
EFT in action - supporting your personal and professional growth
EFT is a versatile and effective tool that can support you across different roles and life situations. Here are some ways we’ve helped.
Occupational therapists - clearing blocks to writing reports
We’ve helped occupational therapists reduce emotional and cognitive blocks when writing functional capacity assessment (FCA) reports. EFT cleared underlying stress and cognitive barriers, enhancing focus and productivity. This enabled faster and more confident report writing, with less of an emotional toll for the occupational therapists writing them.
health professionals - managing stress working in the ndis
We’ve helped health professionals reduce the stress of complex clinical situations, administrative burdens, role changes and compliance requirements while working within the NDIS.
Neurodivergent women - reducing social stress
We’ve helped neurodivergent women reduce social overwhelm and improve self-esteem by addressing anxiety and self-doubt. The emotional triggers of social situations were addressed, resulting in less anxiety and more confidence in social situations.
mothers - reducing stress from parenting
We’ve helped mums reduce stress from the demands of parenting by addressing emotional triggers and improving emotional regulation. Mums reported feeling calmer, more patient and better able to handle daily challenges.
EFT is a flexible, client-centred approach
While EFT follows a structured process, the many techniques available allow us to flexibly tailor each session to your unique needs and pace.
Kimmy uses her clinical expertise to assess your needs and choose the most effective EFT techniques for each session.
EFT is a respectful and relatively private process, as most techniques focus on your emotional and physical responses rather than requiring you to disclose extensive personal details.
Whether you are new to EFT or have experienced it before, you can expect a compassionate, empowering, and transformative process that will support your healing.
Here’s an overview of what the EFT process typically looks like:
Initial conversation. We’ll identify your emotional or physical response to the issue you’d like to work on and establish a focus for the session.
Assessment and rating. We’ll rate the intensity of the emotion or physical sensation associated with the issue on a scale of 0-10 (other forms of rating can be used). This will help us track your progress throughout the session and ensure we’re addressing the most impactful aspect of the issue.
EFT tapping process. I’ll guide you through the tapping process, making adjustments as needed based on how you’re responding.
Reassessment and shift. After tapping we’ll reassess the intensity of your emotional or physical response to the issue, checking to see if there has been a shift for you. We’ll continue tapping until the emotional or physical response has been sufficiently reduced.
Closure. You’ll leave the session with a sense of relief. In many cases, you’ll notice the progress you made in the session immediately. You may also continue to feel shifts over the course of a few days as the body continues to process the work done during our session.

Embracing EFT - A personal and professional commitment to ease and transformation
When Kimmy Lane founded Be You OT in 2020, she brought with her a lived experience in the power of emotional freedom techniques (EFT) to create meaningful change, both personally and professionally.
“I’ve always been drawn to simple, effective methods that offer real results,” Kimmy shares. “EFT was a game changer for me. It felt like the missing piece in my personal healing journey and in the work I do as a clinician.”
Kimmy’s devotion to EFT comes from its profound ability to create lasting change with such ease and grace. “EFT has allowed me to release emotional blocks and limiting beliefs quickly and with self-compassion. It has also allowed me to support other people to do the same, which is such a privilege! EFT aligns so beautifully with my holistic approach to therapy, life coaching and occupational therapy,” she explains.
Kimmy's commitment to EFT is grounded in its ability to empower you to experience lasting emotional balance and personal transformation.
